Mango season is here and this is one of my favourite simple food pairings✨ While mangoes often get a bad reputation because of their natural sugar content, the truth is that they’re packed with fiber, antioxidants, vitamin C, and potassium. Pairing them with soaked chia seeds can make this delicious fruit even more satisfying and nourishing. Why this combination works so well: -Mangoes provide quick energy, antioxidants, and electrolytes like potassium. -Chia seeds absorb water and form a gel-like texture, which can support hydration, digestion, and satiety. -The combination of fiber from both mangoes and chia seeds may help support gut health and promote smoother digestion. -Chia seeds also provide healthy fats and plant-based omega-3s, which help slow digestion and can reduce sudden hunger spikes. Best time to have it? My favourite time is as a mid-morning snack between breakfast and lunch, especially during summer. It also works great as a pre-workout snack 60–90 minutes before exercise if you’re looking for some natural energy. On hot days, it can be a refreshing evening snack too.
