This trip to Puri didn’t really go the way I had imagined. I got sick for one entire day in our 2-day trip… like I couldn’t even get out of bed. Even then, I tried to step out whenever I could. We went to the beach on the first day while visiting Konark Temple, which was an unplanned trip. While we were travelling from Bhubaneswar to Puri, on the way we visited the Konark Temple, and from there we went to Chandrabhaga Beach. This was the first time I’m seeing the sea, and it was so beautiful. Among all the beaches that I saw there, this was the best because it was empty. I don’t like crowded spaces. We also spent time at Puri Beach, especially at night, which I really loved. There was a flea market. We didn’t buy that many things from there, but we definitely enjoyed it. We also went to Golden Beach for one entire afternoon. We spent about 3 to 4 hours there, but at that time I was not very well, so we couldn’t get into the water and just spent some quiet time there. But after that, I felt seriously ill and stayed in bed. Then the next day I decided to go to Jagannath Temple. My mom, dad, and brother had gone many times, but I hadn’t because I was so sick. But after going to the temple, I watched the flag hoisting ceremony, even though that was not my intention. I was so sick, I didn’t think I would go and see that, but when I did, I was mesmerised. It was beautiful. There were hundreds of people there, and it was magnificent. I loved it there. Food wasn’t really a big part of this trip because I was sick, and I had already eaten a lot in Bhubaneswar before coming here. So this time, it was more about just being there than trying everything. One very random but memorable part of the trip was this monkey that used to come to our hotel room. We used to feed it, and it just became this small, unexpected part of our days there.
