Samosa chaat from scratch. Holi used to mean something different to me. It used to be about running around with my sisters, putting colours on each other’s faces, pretending to apply sindoor dramatically, and laughing until our stomachs hurt. Somewhere along the years, that feeling changed. I still play Holi for my family, for tradition and I’m not complaining. But the joy feels quieter now. Softer. Different. So this year, instead of making thandai or typical Holi sweets, I made something chatpata, spicy, and comforting a completely homemade Samosa Chaat. From scratch samosa, homemade sweet chutney, spicy toppings, everything made at home. Because if the colours don’t hit the same anymore, at least the flavours should. This is my Holi now a little nostalgic, a little spicy, a little grown-up. If you’ve ever felt like festivals change as we grow older, this one is for you. Happy Holi 🤍
