I always take the first bite of the food I cook. It sounds small, but it’s not. I’ve grown up hearing that the person who cooks should serve everyone else first that it’s respectful, that it’s manners. But somewhere, I wanted to unlearn that. When I cook, I put in time, patience, care, and a little bit of myself. So this one bite the very first one is my way of pausing and feeding myself too. Today it’s Chicken Katsu Curry crispy, warm and made with a lot of heart.
