Take me back! 🤍 We visited Zaanse Schans - Just 15 minutes from Amsterdam - and honestly, it felt like stepping back in time. This beautiful heritage village has preserved so much of traditional Dutch life— from the iconic windmills to traditional cheese. We spent hours wandering through the dreamy streets, watching the windmills turn, tasting (and buying way too much!) cheese from Henry Willig, and eating what might just be the best ice cream I’ve ever had. 🍦🧀 One of the highlights was visiting a traditional clog factory and actually watching the famous Dutch wooden shoes being made right in front of us. Such a fun experience for both kids and adults! From there, we headed to Zaandam, which looked like a town straight out of a Lego set. The unique green houses stacked on top of each other made it feel whimsical, colourful, and unlike anywhere else we’ve been. If you’re visiting Amsterdam, a day trip to Zaanse Schans and Zaandam is absolutely worth it.
