Everything you need to know about skiing in Gulmarg, Kashmir. 🎿 We recently went skiing with @gulmargskiclub and after I posted the videos, I got a lot of questions from you all. So, sharing all the details here in case you would like to plan a ski-cation. 📍 Where did we learn skiing? Gulmarg Ski Club in Gulmarg. Just contact them and they arrange everything. (Contact of Shahid in DMs. Just type contact) ⏳ Minimum days needed At least 3-4 days if you are a beginner. 💰 Cost 🔹Private ski lessons: ₹3500 per person per day. Can vary depending on the operator. We would practice from 11-1 and then 2-4 pm. 🔹Ski gear rental: ₹700 per person per day 🔹Additional costs: driver (1000 for pick and drop), porter (1000 for one family per day), and sledge (around 500 for entire day to do up and down mountain slopes) 👨‍🏫 Instructors Our coaches were amazing. Very patient. Ask for Faizan @kashmir_in_mylens_ he also helped us with great photos and videos. ❄️ Best time to go Earlier: Nov – April Now due to changing snowfall patterns: Dec – Feb is most reliable 👶 Minimum age Kids 3+ years can learn. No real upper age limit. ⏰ Ski timing We did 11 AM – 1 PM and 2 PM – 4 PM daily. 🥵 Is it tiring? Yes! Build leg strength before your trip. ⚠️ Is skiing dangerous? It can be. Always wear a helmet, listen to your instructor, and control speed. 🏂 Other winter sports You can also learn snowboarding in Gulmarg. After your ski session is over, you can do other things like do ATV ride and visit Army Cafe. Save this if a ski trip in India is on your bucket list.
