As a content creator, I had the opportunity to collaborate with several restaurants and experience their Durga Puja menus firsthand. While on the surface it may look like “just reviewing menus,” behind the scenes it’s a combination of communication skills that I’ve honed over the years. . The real challenge was ensuring that every reel and post felt distinct. In a space full of promotional content, I didn’t want my work to feel like something I would skip as a consumer. As someone who has studied Journalism and Audio-Visual Communication, I realised how often my academic learnings translate into my blogging work. Framing visuals, editing with intent, understanding the psychology of digital audiences, and timely dissemination of content all form part of an integrated strategy. . Each piece needed to tell its own story, highlight the restaurant’s unique personality, and still feel authentic to my voice as a blogger. This is where my seven years in corporate communications really shaped my approach. Skills like leadership communication, strategic storytelling, social media management, and understanding what audiences want now guide how I create content. Durga Puja has always been special to me personally, but this year it also became a professional milestone. Collaborating with brands during one of the busiest festive seasons tested everything from project management to creative agility. And honestly, it was immensely fulfilling to see these campaigns come alive online and offline. For me, food blogging is never just about food. It is storytelling, strategy, and creativity coming together to create content that doesn’t just blend into the background. .
