Aug 5 was World Blogger Day! Yes there is a legit day to commemorate the existence of Bloggers as per online search engines. Well here’s a quick #infostorywithapinchofsalt Blogger Day is celebrated annually on August 5 to recognize the impact that blog posts have had in the digital ecosystem. I’m not talking about Vlogs mind you. I’m talking about the written platform that is the OG definition of BLOGGING. Anyone who has ever created a blog before has most likely used Blogger way back in 2002. We used to have limited access to it in our school computer classes back in the day and I must add, my love for writing is no hidden secret. From Blogger to Blogspot to now Wordpress, my words always managed to find a space to be heard; and the story continues even today. When I was asked what kind of journalist I aspired to be in my introduction at Journalism school; I blurted out “I want to travel the world and document their culture and food, just like my favourite Samantha Brown!”. Little did I know that I would be manifesting my passion and lo behold, here we are almost hitting a decade of @a_pinch_ofsalt ♥️🧿✨ Today the concept of documenting content has a plethora of choices to choose from. The lines between influencers and bloggers have become blurrier with evolving social media dynamics. But if you ask me my personal preference, I would still go for the old school blog writing and clicking pictures from my DSLR. It’s not that I dislike making videos, in-fact, I was one of the first few bloggers to have made video voiceover reviews as early as 2017, before the onset of reels! But something about the written word, still allures me. Many agencies and brands have graciously hosted us through the years but this is the first time we Bloggers were literally seen, heard and felicitated! For that I am grateful to @paromita.candid @candidbyparomita and @club_fenicia for extending such a warm gesture! ♥️🧿✨ Always remember: How you see that plate of food or destination or clothes will always be different from how another person sees it. STOP mimicking the other and choose your vision over anyone else’s. That is what would make me or anyone else come to you!🧿
