My recent visit to Valencia was more than just another assignment—it was a step back into history, into the very heart of a game that has shaped minds and challenged generations. I was there to witness the 550th anniversary celebration of modern chess, an event that brought together scholars, players, and enthusiasts from around the world. 👉🏻 It’s astonishing to think that while over 20 million people play chess today, very few know that it was in Valencia that the game took the shape we now recognize—where the queen, the most powerful piece on the board, was born. Before that, she moved only a square at a time. But in Valencia, she was transformed, suddenly able to glide across the board with force and grace. And in the midst of all this, I had the incredible opportunity to meet and interview Vishwanathan Anand—India’s legendary grandmaster and a five-time world champion.
