“Every day from my balcony, I see him tied… waiting for a freedom he deserves Every morning, when I step out onto my balcony, my eyes find him. A small brown dog, tied to a post near the unfinished walls of the construction apartment. His chain rattles softly whenever he shifts, and his eyes—oh, those eyes—carry the weight of loneliness no words can describe. He doesn’t bark much. Sometimes, when the workers are around, his tail flickers with the hope of a pat or a morsel of food. But when they leave, silence wraps around him like a heavy blanket. He just sits there, head tilted, gazing at the world that rushes past without noticing him I watch him every day. The way he looks at passing children with longing, as if he remembers what it felt like to run free. The way he perks up at the sound of footsteps, only to drop his head again when he realizes they aren’t for him From my balcony, I whisper to him in my heart. “I see you. You are not invisible.” Sometimes I place a biscuit or some food near the fence, hoping it reaches him. It’s a small gesture, but maybe it tells him that at least one soul out there cares. In the middle of this busy city, where lives rise like the towers being built, he remains tied—lonely, waiting. And every day, I carry a quiet hope inside me: that one day, he will be untied, that his paws will feel the earth beneath them freely again, and that someone will love him not as a guard or a chained shadow, but as family. Until then, I watch. And I silently promise him—he is not alone, not while I am here
