ONE SIMPLE YES. A MEMORY HE WILL NEVER FORGET. He stood at the window, eyes wide, watching the rain fall. "Can I go?" he asked, barefoot already, heart ready. For a moment, I paused. My mind whispered all the usual things — “He’ll catch a cold.” “He’ll get dirty.” “He’ll ruin his clothes.” But my heart… my heart saw something else. It saw a little boy who wouldn’t stay little forever. A boy who needed permission to be wild, to be free, to feel the earth beneath his feet and the sky above his head. So I nodded. And he ran. Straight into the rain, with arms wide open. He didn’t care about the cold or the mess. He danced. He jumped. He laughed like joy had no end. And as I stood watching, tears in my eyes, I realized — this moment wasn’t just for him. It was for me too. To remember that letting go isn’t always losing. Sometimes… it’s how we love. That day, he played in the rain. And I held a memory I’ll never forget. And I’m so glad I didn’t stop him.
