I wish I could tell you then what I know now - how you deserved SO much better than what you went through. How you’ll continue to look just as adorable, if not more, even though you’ll grow up thinking otherwise. How you’ll lose people along the way, not because you did anything wrong but because that’s just how life is. How your heart will break over and over, but you’ll always walk out of it stronger. How you’ll always wish you were the smartest one in the room, and maybe you aren’t yet, but oh man do you know how to capture the crowd. How you’ll experience the absolute worst a person can think of but you’ll survive it all - so much so that dad calls you his “warrior”. How you’ll cry yourself to sleep on so many nights and mum will always tell you “time heals everything”, and it actually does. And by the time you’re nearing 30, you’ve gotten all that you didn’t think you deserved - a career that’s only growing, a loving husband, enviable & beautiful curls, and 2 supportive families. Oh honey, I wish I could tell you then what I know now - you’ll be alright, kid.
