Not just London. This is a quieter side of the UK that rarely shows up on social media. We parked and walked the entire stretch of cliffs, letting the wind, waves, and open space set the pace. The only sounds were the sea and the distant call of birds. There’s a lighthouse standing tall, guarding the coast, a reminder of the rough waters that have shaped so much history here. What made this trip even better was our stay: an old fisherman’s wharf turned cosy, affordable group accommodation right by the water. (DM me if you would like the exact name). It was one of those places where you wake up to the sound of the sea and feel like you’re truly out of the city. Surprisingly, it’s one of the few places in the UK that’s actually nice to visit in winter. Places like this make you slow down without asking. You pause longer than expected. You breathe a little deeper. You forget your phone exists for a while. The UK is more than its cities or landmarks. It has corners that feel raw, expansive, and unhurried. Not places to tick off a list, but places to feel present.
