In India, marriage is talked about like a checklist item — career, marriage, kids and then you’re finally an “adult”. Especially for women, like oh you’re 27 28, 29??? as if it was a destination or a definition of being settled in life. But nobody really talks about what it actually means to live with someone day after day when love stops being exciting I’ve seen marriages that look beautiful from the outside but are full of silence inside. I’ve seen love that never made it to marriage but taught more honesty than anything else. So ya I guess when it’s my turn, I would want to do it for me, not for the society, the pressure, the comparison or the fear.
