𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 - 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? The way you get work done defines the kind of leader you become. Targets don’t create pressure. How you choose to achieve them does. And many leaders, under pressure, start thinking: “How do I 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 them to get the work done?” It feels necessary. It feels like being in charge. But what does your team experience? Constant checking. Lack of trust. No space to think. And slowly, something starts to break. Not performance, but ownership. Because when you control everything, people stop taking responsibility. They do what is told. Nothing more. But true leaders don’t ask such questions. They 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗶𝗻𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. They reflect on what they could do better. And then they ask: “How do 𝗜 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 to do their best work?” Same work. Entirely different leadership. This question shifts your role, from controller to enabler. You stop managing tasks. You start building people. Because when people feel trusted, they don’t wait to be told. They step up. They think. They take ownership. Micromanagement may provide you short-term control. But 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. And real leadership is always long-term. At the end of the day, your job is not to control every move. It’s to create an environment where people don’t need to be controlled. So 𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 — Are you trying to control performance? Or are you trying to build people who create it? Because the way you lead decides how your team shows up. ♻ If this made you reflect, 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 it so more leaders rethink how they lead. 📌 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 Abhinav Mohod for daily actionable leadership insights. #ArtOfQuestioning #PeopleFirst #Managers #CorporateCulture #HR #CHRO
