One of Mumbai’s oldest and most authentic Goan food spots is hidden inside Goa Bhavan, Juhu. Most people don’t even know this place exists. What makes it even more special is that they were among the first places to introduce the Fish Thali concept in Mumbai, years before many seafood restaurants started serving it. This government canteen has been run by the Falari family for over 30 years and is now managed by Ankita Falari. The food is simple, homely, and incredibly authentic. No fancy plating, no unnecessary twists, just proper Goan cooking that reminds you of a home-cooked meal. The Shimplya Masala, Mandeli Fry, Prawns Thali, Sol Kadi and Chicken Chilli are absolute must-orders. Don’t leave without having the Sol Kadi with rice. It genuinely deserves all the hype. Another reason I love this place is the pricing. The Chicken Thali is just ₹270, most seafood meals are between ₹200-400, and despite the four of us ordering a proper feast, our bill was only around ₹500 per person. @goanruchik_goabhavan , Gumohan Road, Juhu
