Bihar has a long-standing connection with Christianity, just as the British once had a deep association with the region. One testament to this heritage is Danapur's historic Havelock Church. Located on Albert Ekka Marg in the Danapur Cantonment, Havelock Church is among the oldest churches in the city, having been built in 1827. It stands alongside St. Luke's Church, which was constructed around 1830. Influenced by Spanish architectural design, the church was built during a period of major military expansion by the East India Company. The church suffered significant damage during the Revolt of 1857 and the First World War. However, it survived these turbulent periods, was rebuilt, and continued to function as a major place of worship within the military cantonment. Today, the church stands well preserved under the care of the Danapur Cantonment Board.
