Snigdha's Post

Me and Snigdha headed off to the Duck and Pork Delight at Shangri La's Eros Hotel with Gourmet Planet. After meeting up over a few drinks at Grappa, we headed off to the Shang Palace to be seated and fed, quite lavishly. The warning shots were fired at the first course itself, a Pecking Duck Soft Charcoal Bun served with some Pig fat infused butter. This was followed by a couple of salads, a Sliced Pork and Cucumber salad & a Duck salad, a Bubbling Pork Minced Broth soup followed by an interesting Crispy Duck Foot stuffed with Prawns and a couple of dumplings, Belgium Pork Shanghainese soup dumpling and a Pork Sui Mai with Black Truffle. The Barbeque were next as a huge stack of cuts were brought around, loads of Cha Siu Pork, whole suckling Pig and whole Roast Duck. There wasn't enough space left for the mains but there were quite a few standouts in these too: the Braised Pecking Duck with Bao and a black rice with egg, Duck and Pork. We ended our meal with a Granny Smith apple made out of white chocolate, Bacon Gelato flambeed on the table.
