The Milgram Shock Experiment was conducted in the 1960s to study how people respond to authority. Participants were instructed to give electric shocks to another person whenever they answered a question incorrectly. The shocks increased in intensity with each mistake. In reality, no shocks were given, but the participants believed they were causing real pain. Despite hearing protests and screams, many participants continued the experiment simply because an authority figure told them to do so. The results showed that a majority of people were willing to obey orders, even when it meant potentially harming someone else. This experiment highlighted a powerful insight: under authority, ordinary people can act against their own morals. #factsdaily #geopolitics #ᴇxᴘʟᴏʀᴇᴘᴀɢᴇ
