While researching for a project at work, I had the privilege of a private session with the amazing musicians of Sieng Riti Institute in Wahkhen Village — a place known for keeping traditional Khasi music alive. Here, elders teach children the rhythms of the bom, ksing, tangmuri, and duitara, making sure the sound of the Khasi hills never fades. Every Sunday, something special happens here. Children from Wahkhen and neighbouring villages gather at the institute, some carrying instruments, others just eager to learn. Under the guidance of their elders, they spend the day learning traditional rhythms, songs, and instruments that have been part of Khasi culture for generations Not a show. Not a stage.Just culture being passed down. ❤️ 📍 Meghalaya [Meghalaya,Khasi music] #Wahkhen #KhasiCulture #SiengRiti #IndigenousMusic #NorthEastIndia
