Shillong is celebrating Sengkut Snem 2025 today ✨ The Iaid Paitbah sweeping through Laitumkhrah was a spectacle to behold, but amidst the crowd, my eyes were glued to a single placard that read: 'Tip Briew, Tip Blei." which translates into "Know Man, Know God” We often look for the Divine in the sky, but the wisdom of the Khasi ancestors teaches us to look at the person standing next to us first. As the Sengkut Snem procession moves through today, it carries a message that the world desperately needs: "Tip Briew, Tip Blei." Literally, it means "Know Man, Know God." But philosophically, it is a radical call for Equality: You cannot claim to know the Creator if you do not first know, respect, and serve your fellow human beings.
