I’ve never seen anything like this 🥹 📍 Shillong, Meghalaya This isn’t just a gathering; it’s a human river of faith flowing through the streets. Tens of thousands (honestly, it looks like hundreds of thousands) of people just took over the city for the 2025 Holy Eucharistic Procession. I’m told this is one of the biggest events of the year for the Shillong Archdiocese, and they are not exaggerating. The entire city—from Laitumkhrah to Don Bosco Square—transformed into a sea of pilgrims. The sound of thousands singing hymns in unison is something I’ll never forget. ~ This procession is a public declaration of faith in the “Corpus Christi” (Body of Christ). ~ It’s a tradition that’s been happening for decades, bringing together faithful from all over the Khasi and Jaintia Hills. ~ This year is especially significant as it’s part of the global Jubilee Year 2025, with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” ~ You can feel the sheer scale of devotion, community, and organization.
