BHAKTAPUR- a place that makes me feel I travelled back in time. Bhaktapur is one of the three main cities of the Kathmandu Valley and is a major Newar settlement of the country. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site that gives a glimpse of what a royal Nepalese city looked like 800 years ago.. The multiple -storied temple towers and pagoda-style buildings make me wonder how it withstood the massive earthquakes that have shook Nepal. It really is a wonder. Every nook and corner of the city looks beautiful. Grab some coffee or a full Newari Thali at one of the rooftop restaurants overlooking the square! I assure you, You will not be disappointed! 😉 It definitely topped my list of must visit places in Nepal! 🙌 (TIP: Being Indian you need to pay just NPR 500 to enter Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Nepal. This is applicable to all SAARC nationals. Other foreigners typically pay NPR 1,800, and Nepalese citizens enter for free.
