Mili's Post

As the supermoon ascended the skies that night, the haunting call of the hornbill echoed through the forest, a harbinger of evil lurking in the shadows. In the remote hills of Nagaland where ancient traditions meet modern life, the decapitation of a young photojournalist Tanya Singh during the Hornbill Festival shakes the quiet town of Kohima. Inspector John Angami, a seasoned but disillusioned officer, sets out on a dangerous chase. The investigation takes him into the tumultuous lives of the victim, five potential suspects, and the surreal Khanabadosh, the supernatural warriors of justice. As he delves deeper, Inspector Angami is forced to tread the boundaries between reality and the occult. With both national and international pressure mounting, Tanya’s murder investigation blows the lid off political maleficence, personal tragedies and a humanitarian crisis that trigger a chain of events. Inspector Angami must navigate a treacherous terrain to catch the killer who knows the land as well as its deepest, darkest secrets. In a place where loyalty runs deeper than blood, trust can be fatal. ☕📚 We rarely get to read any book that has a storyline based on eastern India, this book gives us the glimpse of Nagaland and I am extremely happy to read this. Nagaland, social cultural events, wrapped in myst of suspense, and anticipation, a mysterious murder takes charge from the beginning. I felt the murder unfolded too early, before we soaked in Nagaland's atmosphere. The gruesome incident gives readers a jolt. It would be better if the author waited a few pages to let it happen. After that the book is tightly packed with murder mystery, society, cultural events, hidden crime world and past history of victims life unveiling gradually. Overall I enjoyed it. Crime story lovers will enjoy it thoroughly. Your last crime fiction read? Book courtesy @rupa_publications #Theladylivesinbook #CryoftheThornbill #Mystery #BookBlogger
