DHARMA, FATHER SAID, IS OUR COMPASS IN CHAOS, 'GUIDE, PROTECT, NEVER DESTROY, HE SAID, BUT HOW DOES WISDOM STAND AGAINST FIRE? HOW DO WORDS SHIELD AGAINST SWORDS? When Ram found the answer to the question that haunted him deeply, he turned into Parshuram, the beholder of Parshu. In the first volume Parshuram: Blood and Dharma by @vrindkavi @monadrawzthingz focuses on the growth of the dutiful son and obedient pupil Ram into Parshuram, the protector. It highlights the causes that made him avert from the life of learning and peace. The depiction of brutality of the ruler, the death of the innocents, their helplessness and the arrogance of the ruler through the illustrations left a deep impact on me. The illustration skillfully captured the soul of the mythological narrative. As you start reading you find yourself completely lost in the land of Mahismati, the dungeon witnessing the fight between two legendary figures and getting tense witnessing the pain of the masses. In the second Volume Parshuram: Blessing of Sahastra by @vrindkavi @monadrawzthingz we witness an ambitious King, loyal friend, loving husband Kartavirya, the ruler of Mahismati who started with the honest intention of making his kingdom prosperous, keeping his people safe and fulfilling the dream of his father. But everything changed when greed, arrogance and self doubt shrouded his real intentions. The unrest in his kingdom, the death of the innocent souls, the discord between his courtiers and the conspiracy of the enemies stirred something dark in him. He transformed into someone whom his loved ones and subjects couldn't identify with. The readers will witness a beautiful comradeship, a dutiful Maharaj, the rising discontent among the citizens and a prosperous kingdom falling victim to the conspiracies in the book. The illustrations beautifully capture the transformation of the King and his subjects and their bond under the influence of various circumstances. The illustrations breathed soul into the book.I just couldn't get enough of them. What caught my eye is the way, author depicted the main characters in their innocent self before their life choices transformed them into something else.
