Being in your 40s means reaching that phase in life when you have no time, energy and mind space for fake and conditional personal relationships. You know who truly understands, cares and thinks well of and for you and who is there for fluff and benefits. Started drawing my boundaries after this realisation and learning hit a few years ago, and entering 2026 with a levelled up clarity and stronger walls to build. Always a firm believer of kindness and generosity but it's as important to guard oneself and not let vulnerabilities show up in spaces where there is no genuine love and trust.
