
The Festival of Play was everything it promised - vibrant, meaningful and beautifully chaotic. Two hectic days later, my body is a bit tired but my heart is blissfully full. What made it unforgettable wasn’t the stall itself that Beyond the Box put up as a creative marketplace partner; it was the kids who held the fort like seasoned bosses. Prompt Passport had little hands itching to write. The Synonym Hunt turned into a real table-hopping safari. Poe-tree bloomed with tiny poems swaying like leaves, and the Guess the Idiom game and Lit Quiz got kids participating excitedly to win. We sold our Box of Tales volumes 1-5 and BTB merchandise, most of everything we used as products and decor was by BTB kids. The appreciation wasn’t just loud, it was deep. Parents, speakers, sponsors and fellow marketplace partners told us BTB was refreshingly real — by kids, for kids, and it showed. My daughter was right there too, running her own magic with confidence. Honestly? BTB was showcased better than I ever could, because kids turned what we do into what others feel. Watching them shine brought the kind of pride no badge can hold. We also met our favourite authors and artists, discovered new families, and made new little storytellers feel heard. Kids didn’t want to leave the BTB Haven. Some refused to leave. The rest kept coming back. We brought the Box. They brought the magic.
