So when I heard that Mount Kīlauea in Hawaii had been erupting almost weekly since December 2024, I knew I had to try again. The USGS website actually predicts the eruption windows, and there are live cameras you can watch in real time. The moment I saw lava on the screen, we jumped in the car and raced to Volcanoes National Park. It was real. It was glowing. It was wild. And most importantly, it was safe!
