I spent 6 days in Lakshadweep and my only regret is I should have stayed longer! I stay in Agatti and Kavaratti island. I personally liked agatti much more than Kavaratti. Bangaram is another famous island which is open to tourists (but it can only be booked through govt tours currently). Lakshadweep doesn’t have a lot of cafés and even alcohol is banned in the island. Getting basic necessities is also difficult because everything comes in a ship from mainland India. The only thing native to Lakshadweep are coconut and fish. Life here is anything but easy. But the island life has its own charm, and people are very content and happy. If you’re planning to go to Lakshadweep, ideally go after the monsoon in Sept or October. Stay in Agatti and visit nearby islands and also stay in Bangaram if possible - they’re building a new fancy resort over there.
