A group of 26 decided to visit #Kanthaloor last weekend. A push back a.c bus was booked which picked us up from our office and few others on the way. We had a halt in Hotel Vaigai where we had veg & non-veg. Though the environment was ok, the food was good especially #aatukaalpaaya dosa batter was little sour. Parotta was good. Reached Kanthaloor on Sat morning around 7am. We were picked by 4X4 jeep since we had to do off-road to reach @chembani_holidays_and_resorts The resort was beautiful. Neatly maintained floors and clean beds. Bathroom were clean as well. It had 2 & 4 sharing rooms with fan and lights. Water was too cold to take bath. To drink, it is the tastiest :) Day 1 - we had idli with 2 variety of chutney and sambar with tea. We took 4 jeeps and went to see various places in and around Kanthaloor which includes Sandal forest, view point, beehive rock, strawberry farm, spice point, couple of waterfalls among others. We had our lunch in a local restaurant there. After returning to the resort, we had set up campfire. Dinner - chapattis and Parotta With veg Kurian and Parotta with chicken gravy were served. We retired to bed. Day 2 - woke up at 7. After tea, went for a small trek. Came back and had sane breakfast as Day 1 but also boiled egg, white puttu with Kadala curry this time. Visited orange farm. Left to nearby private waterfalls which was at 450 metres. After bath, came back to the resort and had lunch - Sambar, Rasam, More Kulambu and chicken gravy, appalam. We had seen various flora and fauna during our visit. Flora - Mango, Orange, Pineapple, Jack fruit, chillies, pepper and variety of flowers Fauna - Wild boar, Flock of deer, peacock, mynah and last but not the least elephants. Finally left the resort with good memories and reached pick up point by 5. On the way back home, we had sumptuous dinner at @dindigul_goldstar_briyani (mutton & kothu Parotta) which was too good to resist. Pro Tip - Book in advance to avoid last minute disappointment. Higher the altitude, higher the room rates. At the base or even in the middle of the mountain, you can book rooms as cheap as ₹500 per person. We paid ₹1399 per head per day #travel #holiday
