IFor the longest time, I thought Ardhanarishvara was simply about Shiva and Parvati sharing the same form. But when I started studying yogic philosophy, symbolism and Indian traditions more deeply, I realised something fascinating. The feminine isn’t shown on the left by accident. In yogic understanding, the left side is associated with Ida Nadi—the intuitive, nurturing, creative energy within us. And that’s exactly why Shakti resides there. But somewhere between symbolism and storytelling, we reduced Ardhanarishvara to just another image in a temple. I’m using this reel to say this clearly: ✨ The feminine was never placed behind the masculine. ✨ Shakti was never shown as separate from Shiva. ✨ The message was always balance, not hierarchy.
