Everytime I share my tedx speech or post about being a tedx speaker, a lot of you reach out to ask how to get an opportunity to speak at the Tedx? So here is a post that will share multiple ways to get selected: 1. Apply Through the TEDx Event Website. https://speaker-nominations.ted.com Many TEDx events publish a speaker application form on their website months before the event. You can email them. Share your idea, your background, and why your message matters. Keep it crisp yet meaningful. That’s your sales pitch. 2. Get Nominated- Some TEDx events allow nominations. Someone from your network—mentor, colleague, or friend—can nominate you as a speaker. 3. Find local TEDx events and contact the organizing team. Send a short pitch about your idea worth spreading. 4. Build Authority - If you’re known for a specific idea or expertise (through articles, research, startups, or social impact), organizers reach out and invite you directly. Both my Tedx opportunities came via these invites. And I am extremely grateful to @tedxsiesgst and @taxilabusinessschool for that. Also, once you have been a tedx speaker, your chances to be invited to such events increase as you are seen an authority for the same. So it’s a chicken and an egg story. What not to do- You might me approached by agents and agencies who tell you that you can pay to be a Tedx speaker at an event. It is strictly against TED’s rules to pay for a TEDx speaker slot. TEDx events are prohibited from charging speakers fees, accepting payment for speaking, or allowing sponsors to pay for a spot on stage. Hope this helped. Wishing you luck 🤞 #TEDx #PublicSpeaking #IdeasWorthSpreading #ThoughtLeadership
