There was a version of me that avoided mirrors. Not dramatically. Just quietly. A glance and then away. Like I didn’t fully want to see what was there. I practically have mo mirror selfies. Postpartum does that to you. Nobody warns you about the part where you hand over your body, your sleep, your identity and then have to slowly, painstakingly find your way back to yourself. And honestly? Back isn’t even the right word. Because the woman I see now isn’t who I was before Aanya. She’s someone new. Someone I think I actually like more. She has a softer belly and a louder laugh. She knows what she wants. She stopped apologizing for taking up space. The confidence didn’t come from losing the weight or buying the outfit (though the outfit helps, let’s be real). It came from surviving something hard and realizing ‘oh. I’m actually kind of built for this.’ If you’re in the thick of it right now, still avoiding the mirror, still waiting to feel like yourself again — I see you. It’s not linear. It’s not fast. But it comes. And when it does, you’re going to really like who’s looking back. 🤍 #motherhoodjourney #selflove #momsofinstagram #workingmom #indianmomblogger
