Going back to work after having a baby is one of the hardest decisions a mother makes. Here’s how I made mine. 👇 I didn’t wait for options to be handed to me. I asked. I requested to extend my maternity leave to 8 months. I informed my team I needed to work from home until my daughter turned one. I asked, I communicated, and I stood by what I needed. But none of it would have mattered without my village. My in-laws showed up unconditionally — every single day. No questions asked. Just love, just presence, just support that I cannot put into words. They are the reason I could even consider going back. I also found a nanny I could trust blindly with my little one. Together, my daughter was surrounded by people who genuinely cared for her through those crucial first years. Because here’s what I’ve learned — the first two years are everything. If you have the right people around your child, you can show up for your career too. When my job started demanding travel, I was upfront. I told my leaders — I have a small child, extensive travel isn’t possible for me right now. Good leaders will respect that. Because this phase doesn’t last forever. They grow up faster than you think. To every working mom on the fence — your answer might not be quitting. It might just be asking and if you’re lucky like me to have a village to support you there is no backing out. #workingmom #indianmomblogger #parenting
