For the longest time, my wardrobe felt like a graveyard of past sizes—clothes that once fit, styles I once loved, pieces I kept holding onto *just in case* I lost the weight. Every time I opened my closet, I was met with reminders of a body I no longer had. And for two years postpartum, I kept telling myself, *I’ll shop once I lose the weight*. But one day, I had enough. I cleared out carton loads of clothes—ones that didn’t fit, ones that no longer felt like me, ones that carried an expectation instead of joy. I decided that weight *jab kam hoga toh hoga*, but I wasn’t going to put my life on hold until then. So, slowly and steadily, I started rebuilding my wardrobe—not with what I thought I *should* wear, but with what made me feel good *right now*. I picked pieces that flattered my current body, styles that excited me, and fabrics that felt comfortable. I realized that confidence doesn’t come from being a certain size; it comes from wearing clothes that make you feel good in your own skin. It took me time, but I finally understood that being overweight doesn’t mean you can’t dress well. You don’t need to be a particular size to have style, to look good, or to feel confident. You just need to wear what makes you happy. So, if you’ve been waiting—waiting for the weight to drop, for the body to change, for the “right time” to shop—let this be your sign. The right time is now.
