We recently took a trip to Andaman and we had to take two flights to reach Port Blair from Delhi. I knew it was going to be tough considering she will sleep in only one and we will need to engage her in the other. This is what I did. She loves her magnetic tiles and I carried 10piece set. She slept in one of the flights and played with her tiles the whole time because she got to play with them after so long. Moreover when kids travel they feel a little comforted by seeing something familiar in an unfamiliar environment. I guess it regulates them somehow. But during the course of the trip since I didn't carry any other toys she got bored of it. So my suggestion carry another toy that will be given to them while on the return flight. So one of the flights she started to cry and get restless(imagine being a toddler and made to sit for 2.5hrs). We tried playing with paper cups for a while before showing her screen(ms Rachel) for few minutes. After all we were exhausted as well towards the end of our trip handling her throughout, we needed a breather. But maximum part of flight travel was done without screen and Im so proud we managed to pull through. It is definitely a bit more challenging traveling with a 2yr old because they're super energetic and want to continue doing something or the other. Its hard as parents to not show screens and continue to engage throughout. I could easily manage one flight but two back to back flights with a layover was tough.
