I’ve been working on this project quietly, behind the curtains, together with the local community. And I’d like to call it Dhee. Dhee means daughter. A daughter is where lineage moves forward, even when names were never recorded, even when stories were not passed down. We may not know our forefathers. But we know what survives them. Hair is DNA. DNA carries memory. In the Himalayas, pattu was never symbolic. It was lived in. Worked in. Slept in. Endured through winters, labour, and pastoral hardships. Women did not weave legacy. They wove survival. And survival became inheritance. Dhee exists in this recognition that memory lives in material, that ancestry can be touched, that lineage does not need explanation. At its simplest, Dhee is about making pattu easily wearable in everyday life, without stripping it of what it carries. This is just the beginning of the journey. We are currently taking pre orders.
