12 things a corporate woman learns too late in her life. 💼 (How I wish I'd known #5 sooner) 1. Being good at your job isn't enough. Visibility matters more than perfection. If no one sees your work, it doesn't exist. 2. Likability won't get you promoted. Being nice gets you more work. Being respected gets you more money. 3. You don't need permission to speak up. Waiting to be invited to the table means you'll be waiting forever. Pull up your own chair. 4. Your male colleagues aren't working harder, they're just louder. They're not more qualified. They're just more confident asking for what they want. 5. Saying no is a career skill, not career suicide. The more you say yes to everything, the less people value your time. Boundaries build respect. 6. Mentorship matters, but sponsorship changes everything. A mentor gives advice. A sponsor opens doors. Find people who will advocate for you when you're not in the room. 7. Negotiate every offer, even if it feels uncomfortable. Men negotiate. Women accept. That's how the pay gap starts and never closes. 8. Your work won't speak for itself. You have to speak for your work. Document wins. Share updates. Make your value undeniable. 9. Perfectionism is holding you back. Done is better than perfect. Waiting until everything is flawless means someone else already took the opportunity. 10. You're not "too much", you're in the wrong room. If your ambition, opinions, or presence are "too much," find a room that can handle you. 11. Maternity leave won't end your career, but believing it will might. Don't shrink your ambitions because you're planning a family. Demand both. 12. The rules were never written for you so stop following them. The corporate playbook wasn't designed for women to win. Rewrite it.
