Three things that make me instantly not trust you as a leader. 🚩 Because of my toxic boss experience. I've learned to spot red flags early. These behaviors tell me everything I need to know about how you lead. 1. You take credit for your team's work. If you're presenting our ideas as yours or conveniently forgetting to mention who actually did the work, I know you're insecure. Great leaders amplify their team. Weak ones steal the spotlight. 2. You only show up when things go wrong. Where were you during the planning? The execution? The late nights? If you only appear to criticize or micromanage when there's a problem, you're not leading. You're just managing your own anxiety. 3. You say one thing in private and another in public. If you agree with me behind closed doors but throw me under the bus in meetings, I know you lack integrity. Leaders have their team's back, even when it's uncomfortable. Trust isn't given because of your title. It's earned through consistent actions. My toxic boss taught me what leadership shouldn't look like. Now I know exactly what to avoid and what to demand from the people I work for.
