The author effortlessly blends fact with fiction. The book starts with the heartbreaking description of the destruction of Somnath temple. A Gujarati merchant meets Emperor Rajendra Chola at Gangaikonda Cholapuram. He tells a story which moves the Emperor. Now the Emperor puts together a small team and resolves to undertake a perilous quest and strike at the heart of the invader's kingdom. It is a story of courage and vengeance. The twists and turns make it an unputdownable read. The author effortlessly crafted a masterpiece. The description of Chola kingdom is top-notch and I loved it. The characters were described so well. The author's storytelling keeps us glued to the page. There are no words to describe Amish's beautiful writings. He took me to 1025 CE. Overall, I loved this book and would strongly recommend it to all.
