My dear Aarna, Happy 6th birthday, my sunshine. When you grow up and find this letter, I want you to know — you are the sweetest, most loving, and full-of-life six-year-old I’ve ever known. I think I manifested you long before you came to me. I had your name — Aarna — decided even before I was married, even before your bhaiya was born. Somewhere deep down, I always knew I’d have a daughter… and she’d be you. You came into our lives like a burst of joy — chatty, brave, mischievous, and endlessly affectionate. Your love language is hugs and touch. Though my arm goes numb every morning after being your pillow all night, there’s no other way I’d want it — because that’s who you are. You love with your whole heart. You’re my personal Barbie and my little reflection — always surrounded by colours, crafts, makeup, and all things girly. The things I missed in my own childhood, I now relive through you. Sometimes I feel you were sent to heal me — because you always know when I’m low, and one hug from you makes everything okay. You’re thoughtful beyond your years — always asking about your Par Dadi whenever we speak to Dadu and Dadi. It’s such a small thing, yet it shows how deeply you care, how connected and kind you are. You adore your dad — and he’s so smitten by you. The two of you share this quiet, unspoken bond, and watching you two together melts my heart every single time. I love how you’re my puja partner, how you sing bhajans with such sincerity. And I love how close you are to Nani — you’ve given her a new spark in life. You two are so alike — strong, affectionate, and unstoppable. And yes, there are things I’ll never fully understand — your obsession with sharpeners, your dislike for every class, and your endless hanging on the pull-up bar like it’s your playground. But then Nani reminds me, “You were exactly the same!” and suddenly it all makes sense. Aarna, you make our world brighter — you make us laugh louder, love harder, and live softer.
