To put it simply, it doesn’t matter as I no longer view meat as ‘food’, AND to clarify this comes at zero cost of taste with all the 102930 plant-based foods out there! Vegan diets are not about sacrificing flavour, but rather exploring a world of delicious and cruelty-free culinary options. Additionally, as more people transition to plant-based diets, the food industry continues to innovate, creating plant-based alternatives that closely mimic the taste and texture of meat (for those who may miss it sometimes). We are no longer cavemen, we are living in cities with access to all kinds of amazing plant-based foods. There was a time when man ate meat, but if you research this properly you will see it was almost never the major component of their diet even back then (and just a survival-based necessity). People love to bring up the fact that we are at the top of the food chain - but to me, what puts us at the top of that chain is our cognitive ability, in particular our understanding of morals that our other animal friends don’t have. Doesn’t that mean we treat everyone with as much kindness as possible, rather than choosing to eat the more trusting and friendly animals….just because we can? 😔 What do you think - does taste justify consuming animals as food?
