Imagine taking a being capable of understanding and showing love in this manner, and deeming them as okay to be slaughtered for food and other materials… Ducks are literally tortured in the process of preparing the “meat delicacy” foie gras - where they are force-fed to enlarge their livers (up to 10 times their size). They are used for their down feathers in jackets, beddings, cushions etc. and sometimes even their skin is used to make leather.
