The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has updated India’s toll collection rules to promote digital payments and reduce congestion at toll plazas. Starting November 15, vehicles without FASTag will face a tiered toll system — 1.25 times the regular fee for UPI or digital payments and double the toll for cash transactions. The move aims to discourage cash payments, ease traffic flow, and boost digital adoption. Currently, over 7 crore FASTags are in circulation, and 97% of toll payments are already digital. FASTag remains the fastest and most cost-effective way to pay, ensuring smoother and cheaper highway travel. #fastag #fastaguasclaras #automobile
