GST Reforms in Auto Sector (Effective Sept 22): * Small Cars & Motorcycles (<4m, <1200cc petrol / <1500cc diesel, <350cc bikes): GST cut from 28% → 18%. * Large Cars: Tax lowered to a flat 40%, down from 48–50%. * Large Motorcycles (>350cc): Tax hiked to 40%, up from 31%, putting them in “sin goods” category. * EVs: GST unchanged at 5% to continue promoting electric mobility. * Overall: Relief for small cars, small bikes, and large cars; setback for big bikes; EVs remain incentivized. #gst #tax #taxseason #taxcuts
