When I was little, my mum used to take me along to the tailor often. I don't have too many memories of her, but those trips are something I clearly remember. She would carefully pick fabrics and customise my outfits. I still remember she had this green colour suit fabric and she got an exact replica created for me. I don't remember whether she specially bought it or just happened to have extra or I asked I wanted a twinning outfit. But I definitely remember us wearing it together and so happy I had a suit stitched just like mummy. I'm sure if she were here today, my wardrobe would’ve looked a whole lot better than it does now. Fast forward to today, every time I visit the tailor, my little one insists on tagging along too. This time, I had some extra ikkat fabric lying around (bought by my mil during a trip down South), and the first thing I thought of was getting a twinning outfit made for us. No links, no brands, just something made with love. We wore our co-ords this weekend as we roamed around together, and she looked absolutely adorable! That day with her reminded me sometimes it’s these little, ordinary moments that stay with you forever. Just like I carry the memory of my mum and me in green suit, maybe one day she’ll remember this simple day of us twinning and wandering around, just the two of us.🩷
