PS: ignore my funny voice. I use it to differentiate myself from the toy talking 🙈 but it almost always works and she loves this type of pretend play. Its normal for our toddlers to refuse to play or engage in an activity. But sometimes we want them to do an activity because we saw another child do it on social media or spent several minutes setting it up and we wonder why doesn't my child do it?? Fomo bhi hota hai and guilt bhi that we're not doing enough. Let me tell you this happens even to the mom and child on social media. We look like we're doing a lot but sometimes we're spending more time in pretend play or free play than focussed play because toddlers above 2 are developing their individuality. They're learning to feel different emotions. Learning to make a choice and saying yes and no to things. So be prepared that this may happen even before setting anything up. Even if the child plays with it a certain way maynot be the correct way it's ok. Atleast they're playing. Secondly the child might reject it all together and shows complete disinterest. They either lost interest because they couldn't grasp the concept or found it too complicated or just didn't feel like it. It could be anything. Pro tip: Try to understand your toddlers interest and create activities or use toys according to their aptitude. If they don't like sitting and playing then engage more in physical activities and do sitting activities once in a while.
