The daughter requested something fancy for Saturday dinner, so I named the dish I prepared for dinner as -pork belly and x, y, z 😑😑. After all, I'm that mother who proudly served siddho masoor dal, boiled eggs, and gola bhat and told her that she was eating red lentil soup with boiled rice topped with half-boiled egg until the day she realized what she was eating - bhat, dal, dim siddho 😁😁. However, the dish served today was not a pseudo-named thingy. It is double-cooked pork belly - simmered in Fanta (yes, soda works wonders with pork) and lemongrass and a few spices, then fried, the liquid transformed into a rich jus. Accompanied by a salad of fried onions, dried shrimp, and green mango. #porkbelly #homecooked #dinner #debjanirrannaghar
