My 21-month-old is always on the move. Like… constantly. And the moment he gets bored? Instant crankiness. 🫠 I also feel he’s still too young for structured classes like dance or sports… So I had to figure out ways to channel all that energy without losing my sanity 👇 ✨ What’s actually working for us: • Books first The moment I see his energy rising, I offer only books (no toys). Too many options = overwhelm. Books = he actually sits and engages. • Then a few toys (not all) Limited toys after that. Because more toys = more throwing, less playing 🙃 • Outdoor time = GAME CHANGER 🌿 Grass, mud, breeze… Or just running + kicking a ball. Best way to burn that endless energy. • Water play = instant win 💦 Pouring, scooping, transferring… Keeps him busy for soo long + calms him down. • Little “tasks” when energy is STILL high This one surprised me 👇 – wiping his table and chair – putting socks in a basket – color/shapes sorting toys – fixing his sipper or lunch box He feels like he’s doing something important… and stays engaged way longer 🥹 Honestly, this routine has made SUCH a difference for us. ✨ Save this for later 💬 Comment “PLAY” and I’ll share more easy toddler activity ideas. #toddlermom #toddleractivities #gentleparenting #parentingtips #toddlerlife
