Babies around 10-14 months often start hitting. ❌ Not attitude ❌ Not bad parenting ✅ Brain development Your baby has: • Big emotions • Zero words • No impulse control Hitting = communication, not aggression. MISTAKE 1 ❌ Laughing / calling it cute “Arey kitna cute hai 😄” 🧠Baby’s brain learns: 👉🏻This gets attention. Do it again. MISTAKE 2 ❌ Shouting / strong reactions Loud NO ❌ Shock ❌ Drama ❌ 🧠Overstimulates the emotional brain ➡️Increases hitting MISTAKE 3 ❌ “Maar ke dikhao” (play hitting) Babies copy, they don’t understand jokes. 🧠Message received: 👉🏻Hitting is allowed. MISTAKE 4 ❌ Tapping baby’s hand to teach You hit —> to teach not to hit ❌ 🧠Baby learns only ONE thing: 👉🏻Hands are for hitting. MISTAKE 5 ❌ “Ziddi hai” / “Aggressive baby” Labels don’t correct babies — they change adult reactions. More stress = more hitting. WHAT ACTUALLY WORKS ✔️ Calm face ✔️ Gently stop the hand ✔️ Say slowly: “I won’t let you hit.” ✔️ Show alternative: “Gentle touch…clap clap…” Repeat. Consistency matters.
